| Richard has a long association with aerospace and engineering studies, building his first model aircraft around age 8, he subsequently designed, built and flew around 50 different models. At 16, he flew his first solo in a light aircraft but had to wait another 10 years before acquiring his own full-size aircraft, a Moyes XT165. Currently, Richard has 50 hours of general aviation flight time, 300 hours in gliders and over 2000 hours of UAV flight experience. Richard holds a Diploma in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently completing a Master’s Thesis in Mechanical Engineering. For the past three years Richard has been involved in assisting Undergraduate Avionics UAV projects at QUT, helping many students with aircraft development and flight testing activities. Richard intends to continue working with ARCAA to develop reliable UAV technology for the future, combining theoretical knowledge and practical experience into useful inventive flight outcomes is a passion. |
