The CRC-SI Project 6.07 is a cooperation between the Collaborative Research Centre for Spatial Information, Ergon Energy, ARCAA-Queensland University of Technology, iintegrate Systems, Queensland Goverment and V-TOL Aerospace.

The main objective of this project is

To improve Ergon operatonal efficiencies, reliabilty and quality of service through improved strategic assest management and planning services.

To accomplish this objective the project aims to focus in the following key areas

  • Improved data capture, through the evaluation of autonomous airborne image collection systems.
  • Improved data analysis, through autonomous classification and data anaylisis of collected vegetation data
  • Improved data management and integration, through facilitated access to customized (integrated)"on-demand" spatial data sets.

The project will assess UAS as an airborne sensor system in the powerline monitoring application.  ARCAA (QUT) will also develop sensing and processing methodologies.
